Open Management Development Programmes (MDPs)

MDI has been a leader in providing working executives with learning opportunities through its wide range of Open MDPs. The Open MDPs are programmes offered to Executives of different companies, both public and private. The programmes are carefully designed on topical themes to create value for participants from diverse backgrounds.

An Overview of the Important Programmes Conducted in 2020-21

Some of the important programmes held during the year are given in the following paragraphs, which would reveal the diversity and the depth of the various programmes.

Open Programmes

07 open programmes were conducted during the financial year 2020-21 which were attended by 104 participants. The programmes were designed to equip the executives with latest vision and perception in the management field with a view to prepare them to meet demanding situation and face the challenges in the emerging markets of globalization and privatization on attaining higher positions. The duration, the structure, and the focus of these programmes varied with the level of the participants' group. The content and orientation of each programme, therefore, were customized to the needs of the participants. While the programmes provide inputs to fill the knowledge gaps, the emphasis is also on broadening their horizon through case studies, business games/role play and exercises.

An Overview of the Important Programmes Conducted during F.Y. 2020-21

Some of the important programmes held during the financial year are given in the following paragraphs, which would reveal the diversity and the depth of the various programmes.

Online programme was organized during Sptember-October 2020 in collaboration with I.S.A.C., Noida. This scholars programme aim to bridge the gap at the leadership level to drive the initiative and business opportunities in both the Govt. and the Industry.

Online programme was organized during October 28-30, 2020. This distinctive Art of Persuasive Communication programme focuses on enabling participants with a wide range of practical tools and concepts designed to strengthen executives’ abilities on how to open and maintain communications along with developing strong listening skills. Participants learn how to use emotional and rational intelligence to persuade others in one-on-one situations. The programme develops the participants’ skills needed to develop impactful, structured and persuasive presentation, acquire techniques for establishing credibility and managing nervous energy along with understanding crucial nonverbal aspects of communication: authority, energy and audience awareness. Participants from various public sector/private sector organizations in India attended the programme.

Online programme was organized during December 14-16, 2020. This program aimed at executives and managers of all levels to understand and explore the hidden potential of oneself. To become an effective leader and manager, one needs to understand the real life workplace realities. Knowledge about self, one’s own strength and weakness one should have an ability to understand and analyze others’ explicit behaviour and the hidden part of others’ behaviours. These behavioural aspects of self and others provide a good idea and perspective to understand the work place environment in a different paradigm. Participants from various public sector/private sector organizations in India attended the programme.

Online programme was organized during March 01-03, 2021. The programme offers conceptual model, individual assessment, strategic insights and tactical approaches to help participants understand the dynamics of conflict resolution, bargaining and collaborative solutions. The participants shall develop an understanding of behavior of individuals, groups and organizations in competitive situations and also learn to practically deal with it. Participants shall be able to hone behavioral and communication skills for effective negotiation. Participants from various public sector/private sector organizations in India attended the programme.

Online programme was organized during March 08-10, 2021 for executives of all levels to enhance understanding of self and others thereby contributing to self-development and development of others through leadership skills. The programme aimed at getting the best from your people to become an effective team member and leader, and take the participants to the next higher level of performance thereby contributing to personal and organizational goals. Participants from various public sector/ private sector organizations in India attended the programme.

Online programme was organized during March 15-19, 2021 for the middle level managers to give an exposure to finance and also enhance the profile of the operating managers. The programmes aimed to meet the requirements of operating managers in different functional areas to be well versed with the introductory nuances of finance. Participants from various public sector/ private sector organizations in India attended the programmes.

Online programme was organized during March 24-26, 2021 for junior, middle, and senior level officers/managers/administrators who are in various leadership roles. This programme aimed - to understand how Leadership becomes a key differentiator in a business, what are some of the key competencies that successful leaders possess and also their unique characteristics that make them create an impact in their role, on their job, in the organization and on business, include self-assessment for greater self-awareness on key leadership dimensions, sharing and learning from peers’ experiences and success stories, enhancing awareness on current milestone in the overall leadership journey, and creating future roadmap for the leadership journey ahead. Participants from various public sector/ private sector organizations in India attended the programme.
