Profile

Prof. Manoj Anand is Professor of Finance & Accounting, Dean of School of Management of Financial Institutions and Acting Chairperson, Centre for Financial Services at Management Development Institute Gurgaon.

He has been Whole-time Member (Finance) at Pension Fund Regulatory & Development Authority (PFRDA), New Delhi (INDIA) from October 1, 2020 to April 4, 2025. He has worked on comprehensive review of PFRDA Regulations as a member of Regulation Advisory Committee (RAC) during the financial year 2023-24 and on formulation of PFRDA (Operationalisation of Unified Pension Scheme under the National Pension System) Regulations, 2025. As a PFRDA Team lead, he successfully organised and coordinated 1st International Research Conference on Pension 2025 (IRCP) in collaboration with IIM Ahmedabad on April 3-4, 2025 at New Delhi.

He has more than four decades of academic, research, consulting and administrative experience with the leading business schools and Government of India as an Indian Cost Accounts (ICoAS) service officer and WTM (Finance) at the PFRDA.

Prof. Anand is a Ph.D. and has a Master’s degree in Commerce with specialization in Finance & Accounting (with distinction & First Position) from Panjab University, Chandigarh, and a Master’s degree in Business Laws from National Law School of India University (Distance Education Department), Bangalore. He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India.

Prof. Anand has been Convener, IIM Kashipur Task Force during 2011-12. He has been Dean (Academic Affairs) during 2011-13 at IIM Lucknow; Chairman of Post Graduate Program in Management during 2008-10 at IIM Lucknow and Chairman of Working Managers’ Program at Noida Campus during 2014-16 of IIM Lucknow.

Prof. Manoj Anand has been given Best Faculty Award by the Graduating Students of IIM Lucknow: Batch 2008; 2009 & Batch 2010 and by Graduating Students of IIM Kashipur: Batch 2013.

Dr. Anand’s research interests include Pension Economics, Finance & Regulations, and Infrastructure Project Finance.
