Prof. Prashant Kumar is an assistant professor in information management at MDI Gurgaon. He holds a Ph.D. in Management (Information Systems) from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, where his doctoral work focused on the influence of social media on customer satisfaction and firm performance. He has previously served as faculty at O.P. Jindal Global University and as Visiting Faculty at FORE School of Management. His teaching interests lie at the intersection of technology and business, with recent courses on Management Information Systems, AI for Business, Generative AI and the Future of Work, and Data Visualization, offered across MBA, BBA, and online executive programs. Prof. Kumar’s research sits at the convergence of AI-driven decision-making, digital customer experience, and social media analytics. He has published in top-tier journals such as Industrial Marketing Management, Information Systems Frontiers, Journal of Cleaner Production, Annals of Operations Research, and Marketing Intelligence & Planning. His article on AI-enabled chatbots in Industrial Marketing Management was featured by IIT Delhi and covered in The Hindu BusinessLine under the headline “Meaningful Chatter from Chatbots”. With over 600 citations, his research combines computational techniques, thematic analysis, and real-world data to address contemporary IS challenges.
Dr. Kumar serves on the Editorial Review Board of Elsevier’s International Journal of Information Management Data Insights and is an active reviewer for several prestigious journals, including Decision Support Systems, Information Systems Frontiers, IEEE Transactions on Computational Social Systems, SAGE Open, Journal of Public Affairs, Cogent Engineering, and Journal of the Association for Information Systems (JAIS). He has also reviewed for leading conferences such as ECIS and HICSS. He has delivered training sessions for the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) officials. He has interned with Sling Media Pvt. Ltd. (Dish TV) on online customer experience analytics projects. Dr. Kumar is committed to fostering critical thinking, analytical acumen, and technology-driven innovation in future business leaders.
