Dr. Rahul Kumar is an Assistant Professor in the Economics and Public Policy area at the Management Development Institute Gurgaon. He has a Ph.D. in Economics from Indian Institute of Management Lucknow. He completed his Master’s degree in Financial Economics from University of Hyderabad and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics (Honors) from Banaras Hindu University. He works in the area of macroeconomics, with a particular focus on inflation dynamics, monetary economics, and international trade. His doctoral research, titled “Essays on Inflation Expectations, Inflation, and Monetary Policy,” investigates how the formation of inflation expectations takes place in the economy and how these expectations influence the decision-making processes of the two most prominent economic agents: households and firms. He has presented his work at leading economics conferences and has published in reputable journals.
