Profile

Dr. Subhendu Patnaik has over a decade of industry and teaching experience. Dr. Patnaik obtained an MBA from Cardiff University, UK, and PhD in Organizational Behaviour. He is an expert panel member for HR & IR in the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Delhi. He was part of developing competency mapping framework for the scientists of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Government of India, and the Defence Institute of Psychological Research (DIPR), Government of India. He is co-chair of the International Common Good Management Network (CIG-CGHRM & Health and Well-being) based at WU Vienna, Austria. He has international teaching experience at the University of Pécs, Hungary. He previously worked with IMT Ghaziabad as a faculty in the Organizational Behavior and HRM area. He was also the co-chairperson for the PGDM-ExP program (Full Time Executive MBA). During his tenure as co-chairperson of the program, IMT Ghaziabad secured the 1st rank in QS Executive MBA Rankings 2024 for the Career Outcome category in India. Additionally, this program achieved 3rd position in Asia and 9th globally in the Career Outcome category. He has published papers in ABDC ‘A’ and ABS ‘3’ ranked journals and is the author of edited books published by Routledge, UK, along with Professor Sir Cary Cooper from the University of Manchester, UK.

He has conducted Management Development Programs for the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Government of India, Military Engineer Services, Government of India, Indian Oil, SBI, HPCL, NTPC, Power Grid Corporation of India, Maruti Suzuki, Aditya Birla Sun Life, JK Tyre, HR Heads of Public Sector Undertakings, Bureaucrats, Government of Odisha, and trained international executives from UNICAM, Brazil, and Universidad Externado de Colombia.

Dr. Patnaik’s current research interests revolve around understanding the effect of positive constructs (e.g., PsyCap, psychological ownership, and grit) on work outcomes, along with the examination of neurobiomarkers. To uncover the phenomenon of interest, he aspires to use a combination of experimental, daily-diary studies, and mixed-method designs using both multi-level and longitudinal samples.
