Dr. Tanuja Sharma is a Advisor and founder Chairperson (Rtd.), Centre for Ethics, ESG and Responsible Organizations (CERO@MDI Gurgaon) in MDI Gurgaon.

In addition to various events including expert lectures, workshops and co-partnered events, as a External Advisor at CERO@MDI Gurgaon, she has co-edited a book by Springer titled ‘Responsible Leadership in Uncertain Times’ (2022) and has co-authored three cases on Sustainability and Responsible Leadership from Ivey Case Cell (UK).

CERO has successfully organised an international conference on ‘Creating and Managing Responsible Organisations’ in October 2023 in MDI Gurgaon, India to create awareness and knowledge in the domain of sustainability.

She has contributed extensively through publication, teaching, training, and consulting in the field of Human Resource Management (HRM).

She has led MDPs on HR issues, Coaching and Mentoring, and Ethics at Work for senior executives across private and public sectors in India.

She has actively participated in conferences and has published in international and national journals.

Currently, she is teaching HRM, PMS, and Business Ethics to MBA students, Public Policy participants, and research scholars at MDI Gurgaon.

She has guided doctoral work on topics related to HRM including Performance & Compensation Management, Intergenerational Gender Issues, Returning Mothers @ Work, Dignity @ Work, Happiness @ Work, Vipassana, and Social Capital Formation among others.

She was influenced by Buddhist philosophy after attending teachings from HH Dalai Lama Ji and pursued Buddhist studies (Nalanda Tradition) under Geshe Dorji Damdul, Director, Tibet House, New Delhi.

She has undergone retreats in Bodhichitta, Buddhist Psychology, Middle Way (Madhyamikaavatar), and Emptiness (Mulamadhyamikakarika by Arya Nagarjuna) in Bodhgaya, Bihar and Bir, Himachal Pradesh.

She has also undergone an 11-day Vipassana meditation program to understand the mind and its potential.

At MDI Gurgaon, she has organized CEO/CXO dialogues on Compassionate Organizations (2016), a day-long dialogue on Compassionate Gurgaon (2019), and co-organized a webinar series on migrant workers' plight during the COVID-19 pandemic.

She has chaired conference panels on Universal Values, Ethics, and Compassion at Tibet House, New Delhi.

Currently, she is a Distinguished Senior Advisor at the Centre for Responsible Management (CRM), Jindal Global Business School and has served as Vice President, WICCI National Business Council (NBC) for Sustainability.

Her academic contributions include membership in Board of Studies at Ambedkar University, Delhi; membership of RAC-Apex Committee at Shiv Nadar University; and empanelment with UPSC.

She has been associated with several reputed platforms including SHRM India, CII, GOI Performance Cell, BIS Anti-Bribe Panel, Good Governance Committee, and the Board of Governors at CSRL (Super 30 initiative) supporting marginalized students through capability building.

Her PhD from FMS, University of Delhi on Performance Management for attaining quality received the MERCER Award, Asia (2005).

She has also received multiple recognitions including Best Paper Award at ICBED New York, US (2013), Most Highly Cited Paper by Emerald Publishing Group (2017), Best Mentored Case Award by WCA (Westerna Academy of Management, 2021), and Best Top 10% Paper Award on Intentionality and Social Capital at AOM 2023, Boston, US.
