Digital Twins and Simulation Techniques
Digital twins provide a digital replica of the physical system, which can help organizations simulate real situation and their outcomes for better decision making. The importance of simulation for organizations originates from the inherent limitations of mathematical models to solve real life complex problems to optimality. Further, experimenting with actual system in real time may be costly as well as time consuming. To mitigate some of these challenges, several simulation models through digital twins are created to analyze large and realistic problems which may incorporate uncertainty and dynamic changes. Contrary to popular management philosophies, organizations have nowadays realized the importance of supply chain performance for the overall growth and sustainability. Simulation models help to tackle to challenges related to strategic level decision making (location, layout and capacity problems, distribution chain analysis), tactical level decision making (sales and operations planning, demand management), and operational level decision making (inventory management, quality control, waiting time analysis, and replenishment policies).
This unique program will focus on how digital twins and simulation models through state-of-the-art business case studies and simulation soft wares can be used to tackle real world problems
