Managing Difficult Negotiations

Negotiation is an art that can be mastered and a science that can be learnt” is fairly well accepted principle today. As professionals and organizations work towards mutually beneficial long-term relationships; negotiating deals, managing differences and using influencing skills are a few crucial competencies for professionals at all levels of management. They need to understand the dynamics effectively master the processes and overcome the challenges of negotiation to deal with the duality of competition and collaboration in the business world.

Objectives

The programme Mastering Difficult Negotiation offers conceptual model, individual assessment, strategic insights and tactical approaches to help participants understand the dynamics of conflict resolution, bargaining and collaborative solutions. The participants shall develop an understanding of behavior of individuals, groups and organizations in competitive situations and also learn to practically deal with it. Participants shall be able to hone behavioral and communication skills for effective negotiation.

• Understanding types of negotiations including soft and hard ball negotiations
• Managing conflict for effective negotiation
• Developing styles of negotiation bandwidth
• Mastering strategies and tactics
• Collective bargaining
• Breaking the Ego; separating the Person and the Role
• Ethics of negotiation
• Appreciating cross-cultural nuances
• Negotiation with trade unions

Who should attend?

Participants shall include junior, middle, and senior level officers/managers/administrators who deal with various challenging negotiation situations in their working lives.

Venue & Duration

The programme is scheduled during January 27-29, 2027 on a residential basis at MDI Campus, Mehrauli Road, Sukhrali, Gurugram. Accommodation for participants would be available at MDI Campus from the noon of January 26, 2027 to the forenoon of January 30, 2027.

Fees

Participants should be nominated by their organizations. The enclosed nomination form should be completed and returned with all the details. The fee of the program which includes a professional fee and all charges for boarding, lodging and supply of course materials during the programme. GST as applicable will be charged extra in addition to the programme fee. Payment should be made by Cheque/NEFT/RTGS.

Discount Policy

• 10% Discount against 3-5 nominations
• 20% Discount against more than 5 nominations

Important Dates

The last date for receipt of nominations is January 14, 2027. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is January 15, 2027. Any withdrawal received after this date will be subject to deduction as per the Institute’s rules. However, substitution may be permitted.
Nominating organizations are advised to await confirmation of acceptance of nominations(s) before sending the
participants to the programme venue.
