Post Graduate Diploma in Management - International Business (PGDM-IB)

The PGDM-IB-MIM is a prestigious dual degree programme jointly offered by MDI Gurgaon in collaboration with emlyon business school, Lyon, France and ESCP Business School, France. Delivered across India and Europe, this programme provides a unique blend of academic rigor and international exposure. Both partner institutions hold prominent positions in global rankings. According to the Financial  Times (FT) European Business School Rankings 2024, emlyon business school is ranked 11th and ESCP Business School is ranked 5th.


Initial Study at MDI Gurgaon: Students begin the programme with two terms-Term I and II at MDI Gurgaon (Semester 1 of the partner Institution), where the focus is on foundational coursework. This phase emphasizes core inputs across qualitative and quantitative disciplines, aiming to build strong analytical, integrative, and communication skills.


International Component: After completing the initial two terms, students proceed to one of the partner institutions (emlyon business school in Lyon, France or to one of the six ESCP Business school campus locations; Paris, Berlin, Madrid, Turin, Warsaw and London) for two semesters (Semester 2 & 3 of the partner institution) equivalent to Terms III, IV, and V of MDI Gurgaon. During this phase, the curriculum provides an in-depth international management perspective, including a mandatory industry internship, primarily based in Europe, to ensure hands-on experience in a global business environment.


Final Term at MDI Gurgaon: Upon completion of the international component, students return to MDI Gurgaon for Term VI (Semester 4 of the partner institution), during which they complete the remaining academic requirements.

Pedagogy

The programme employs a diverse range of pedagogical methods, including case studies, simulations, lectures, interactive discussions, and role plays to facilitate experiential and applied learning. Students from MDI Gurgaon are fully integrated into international cohorts at both partner institutions. This collaborative and immersive learning environment promotes cross-cultural understanding, broadens global perspectives, and strengthens the ability to work effectively within diverse, international teams.


Scholarships
MDI Gurgaon provides the following scholarships to support and recognize academic excellence and promote inclusive education:
•    O.P. Jindal Scholarship: An award of INR 1,50,000 is granted to second-year students based on merit.
•    Merit Scholarships: Three scholarships of INR 40,000 each are awarded to the top three students (based on CGPA) at the end of the second year.
•    Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Scheme: Designed to support meritorious students from economically weaker sections (EWS), this scholarship scheme offers a total of 12 scholarships annually. Each scholarship provides a 50% tuition fee waiver for students enrolled in the two-year full-time programmes—PGDM, PGDM-HRM, PGDM-IB, or PGDM-Business Analytics at MDI Gurgaon.

Studying in Europe

  • Students enrolled in this programme will have the opportunity to spend two semesters at their allocated foreign partner institution; emlyon business school, Lyon, France or ESCP Business School, France; both of which offer enriching academic and cultural experiences in the heart of Europe.
  • The Lyon campus of emlyon business school is renowned for its innovative teaching methodologies and strong industry linkages, providing students with a globally relevant business curriculum in one of France’s most historic cities. Similarly, ESCP Business School operates six urban campuses located in major European cities, actively contributing to the development of a European management culture and offering a unique cross-cultural business education.
  • Students attending, either emlyon business school or ESCP Business School are not required to pay tuition fees at the host foreign partner institution, provided they complete their academic requirements within one year. However, students are responsible for covering visa fees, visa assistance charges, social security contributions, travel expenses, daily living costs, lodging and boarding, as well as the cost of books and learning materials.
  • Partner institutions will assist students by providing information regarding available accommodation options; however, students are responsible for making final housing arrangements independently.
  • Students must have comprehensive health insurance coverage (including medical costs and hospitalization) and personal insurance (covering civil liability, individual accidents, and repatriation) for the entire duration of their academic stay at the allocated partner institution.
  • Students enrolled in this programme are strongly advised to possess a valid passport (with at least one year of validity) at the time of departure.

Master in Management (MIM) Degree Requirements

Award of Diploma / Degree
Upon successful completion of the PGDM-IB programme requirements, the student is awarded a Post Graduate Diploma in Management – International Business (PGDM-IB) by MDI Gurgaon, along with a Master in Management (MIM) degree from either emlyon business school or ESCP Business School, depending on the partner institution attended during the international study component.

Note: *MDI Gurgaon reserves the right to make any changes to the design of the programme. The twinning (dual degree) Programme PGDM-IB of MDI Gurgaon and MIM of partner institutions is subject to regulatory approvals. Under special circumstances like COVID-related travel restrictions, the programme may be conducted entirely at MDI Gurgaon.
