Presently the PGDM (Online) Program allows participants to earn a Diploma, as is mandated by AICTE. As you are aware, in India, institutes, governed by the AICTE, and who are not universities, are mandated to give the PGDM and not the degree. In due course, the program may be recognised by the AIU and granted equivalence to the MBA.
The courses are divided amongst two years. First year will have twenty-two courses each of two credits adding up to forty-four credits.Second year will have eight courses each of four credits adding up to thirty-two credits. Two credit courses will have 15 hours of live classes, whereas four credit courses will have 30 hours of live classes. Apart from these sessions, there will also be tutorials and scheduled immersions, taking the face to face interaction over seven hundred hours. Classes will be held during Friday, Saturday evening hours, and Sunday from 10AM to 5PM. 3 of the four slots would be used. The classes would be held live with the faculty. The recordings of the live sessions will be made available to the participants. In the elective terms, the class days may vary depending on the electives which you choose, but they will normally be in the evenings.
The immersion program gets you to campus, where you will interact with the cohort, faculty, director, institute academic leaders and corporate leaders. There will be interactions with corporate leaders, guest lectures, knowledge sessions, and practical computer centre exposure to the advanced MS excel tools and softwares. Outbound exercises for an informal interaction among the class and corporate leadership would add to the experience. Simulation exercises from various domains as in marketing, operations etc, will put you into the “decision making” space.
The elective courses would be scheduled over the weekend evenings, Sunday -full day and weekdays evenings.
Yes. Successful completion of this programme, makes you an MDI Gurgaon Alumni.
The program helps with career transformation. People who complete this programme would be able to explore newer options, both within the company that they are working in or outside. For example, you may move from being a software developer to an account manager, having acquired marketing skills. Multiple exposures to different subjects and the dual specialisation that you can take, will open many placement opportunities. Career Guidance and Personality Development are integral parts of this programme and will strongly aid to your career acceleration.
Career guidance, job and career counselling would be provided. These would be conducted by experts in this domain and also by taking the help of industry experts. Your interaction with the working executives, classmates, institute alumni in various events and social media, corporate leaders is expected to help you exploring job offers and career support.
The whole program is about career transformation. Both in the short run and also in the long term. In the short run, the Career Guidance offered would be a great help. It will help you to develop and explore options for yourselves. It will suggest best fit. It will also prescribe the way to meet your aspiration. But in the long term, what will help is the multi-functional exposure which you will get. Management education is essential to grow in the organizations and take up larger responsibilities. The enterprise-wide view is very important as you go up the hierarchy.
The class will be diverse in terms of experience profile, industry and roles. This will add to vibrant class discussions. The trend that we are seeing suggests that senior professionals are interested in this programme. They say that, doing a PGDM, without the opportunity costs of losing one or two years of work, is a big attraction. The class experience average in working executive classes generally ranges between 7 to 9 years (approx). Program is best suited for a group of individuals who like to develop their business profile through management education for growth opportunities in the organizations.
Both have their own advantage. The PGDM (Online), allows you to study from any location. You do not lose your income as you can continue with your career in the evenings or weekends. You can attend classes even when you are on personal and professional travel, which is not the case in working executives full time programmes. Then there is the obvious benefit of not having to forgo your salary for one or two years. The important fact is that this program is as rigorous as the full time residential one.
The candidates will be shortlisted based on overall merit. The candidates will be evaluated on Academic Performance, Quality and Quantity of work experience, Performance in interview, and other evaluation matrices. The offers will be made on a merit basis.
