In this session, Prof. Alaknanda will share the conflicts faced by a young scholar entering into academia. In Indian B- schools, the role is fourfold- Research, Teaching, Administration and Consulting, with varied expectations and commitments across different institutes. The topic will focus on how young scholars fulfill the expectations of the Academic Institute by accomplishing varied roles. Being an early/mid-career academic, she would discuss the must-dos and good to-dos for each role. Also, being a qualitative researcher and actively involved with the industry, she’d discuss how one can integrate ethnographic research methodologies for policy impact studies, link it to generating funds for research and collaboration, that further leads to consulting and definitely better delivery while teaching.
