School of Public Policy and Governance
The School of Public Policy and Governance was established in 2006 in MDI. Since then, with the support of DoPT, the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Public Policy and Management) - PGDM (PPM) has successfully trained approximately 250 senior officers representing 22 Ministries/Organizations & State Governments from 12 Services – (IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS, Indian Railways, IES, ITS, CSS, ICAR, Atomic Energy, etc). The School of Public Policy and Governance and the Centre of Excellence in a World Class infrastructure provide a unique learning experience at MDI, Gurgaon.
The Programme
The eighteen-month diploma program ACITE-approved PGDM (PPM) program offers a unique integration of management concepts, tools, and techniques with public policy formulation, analysis, and implementation requirements, including the design and execution of delivery systems. The program combines multidisciplinary faculty, practitioners, and policymakers to build a holistic perspective by constantly exchanging experience and evidence.
After the completion of the program, participants are expected to:
- Understand leadership, citizen-centric governance, regulation, & sustainable development
- Develop skills in policy analysis, implementation, & design of policy alternatives
- Learn strategies to develop partnerships between business, society, & government
- Develop behavioral, professional, & domain competency
- Engage with academia, policymakers, & business leaders
- Collectively refresh, reflect, and realize on the campus of knowledge
- Develop a policy paper by aligning government vision with citizens’ values
Duration
The eighteen months program, out of which 15 months will be at MDI Gurgaon, followed by three months for a Policy Paper, undertaken by the participants at the respective workplaces.
